What is Invader?

Invader is a podcast player built the old way: your subscriptions, queue, and listening history live on your iPhone, not on a server. There are no accounts, no ads, and no analytics profile — discovery uses Apple's public podcast directory, and everything else is the app talking directly to each show's RSS feed.

It's also unapologetically a piece of design: native SwiftUI on iOS 26's Liquid Glass, wrapped in an original pixel-art alien identity — down to a marching alien in the pull-to-refresh.

Feature highlights

Warp — skips silences in real time, so talk shows move at the speed of conversation.
Signal Boost — sharpens quiet voices for listening in loud places.
Transcripts — read, search, and tap to jump, synced as you listen.
Cargo Bay — import your own audio files; they behave like regular episodes, with optional iCloud backup.
Themes — Neon Orange, Blurple, and the Pro-exclusive Alien Green.
The basics, done right — downloads, queue, sleep timer, per-show settings, new-episode notifications.

Core listening is completely free. Invader Pro — an annual subscription — unlocks Pro Audio (Warp and Signal Boost), transcripts, and the Alien Green theme, and keeps the mothership running.

The story

Invader is designed, built, and supported by one person. It exists because the big podcast apps became recommendation engines with a play button — this one is just a really good play button. The privacy stance isn't a feature flag; it's the architecture: local-first SwiftData, direct RSS, and a notification service that knows only a push token and which feeds you follow.
